In order to meet the objectives of the Framework Agreement signed by the Education Bureau of Hong Kong and the Department of Education of Guangdong Province — promoting educational exchanges and collaborations between Guangdong and Hong Kong — The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) co-organised a Greater Bay Area (GBA) public lecture and training event in Huizhou, with the Education Bureau of Huizhou on 9 and 10 March.

Led by Professor Lo Sing-kai, Associate Vice-President (Internationalisation), the EdUHK delegation included Professor Yan Zi of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Associate Professor Dr Song Yanjie of the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology, and Associate Professor Dr Wang Li-Chih of the Department of Special Education and Counselling. The team gave lectures covering various areas including evidence-based education, classroom assessment strategies, educational technology and strategies for specific learning disabilities.

More than 600 primary and secondary school principals, vice-principals and subject teachers from Huizhou participated in the lecture. The participants praised the programme and the lectures for providing new perspectives and innovative strategies for their pedagogical practices. They also believed that the series served as a good platform for educational exchange in the Greater Bay Area and in promoting the development of education in Mainland China and Hong Kong.
